The NDC vice-presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has challenged the ADC Presidential Campaign Council to address allegations levelled against its candidate by Vice-President Kashim Shettima rather than focus on attacking him and Peter Obi, the NDC presidential candidate.
“The ADC-PCC would be better served directing its energy toward rebutting the serious allegations levelled against their candidate by the Vice President, His Excellency Kashim Shettima, instead of targeting me and His Excellency Peter Obi,” Kwankwaso said in a statement via his Facebook page, on Sunday, October 18.
Kwankwaso did not provide further details of the allegations in his statement.
He also criticised the APC-led administration, arguing that the ruling party had failed Nigerians and that the ADC did not offer a better alternative.
“The APC-led government has failed Nigerians. The ADC offers no better alternative,” he declared.
In contrast, Kwankwaso described the NDC ticket as a credible alternative, claiming it had the competence, track record and broad-based support needed to lead the country.

“We believe the OK ticket presents a credible and viable option, backed by proven capacity, a strong track record, credibility, and broad support across both Northern and Southern Nigeria.
“It is a healing ticket committed to uniting our country and tackling critical challenges in security, education, agriculture, infrastructure, healthcare, the economy, and other key sectors,” he said.
He further described the NDC as the country’s most formidable opposition party and urged supporters to remain committed to its campaign ahead of the election.
“I believe the NDC remains the most formidable and viable opposition party in the country.
“I therefore urge all our supporters and well-meaning Nigerians to continue working toward the victory of our great party,” he said.
Kwankwaso concluded his statement with the words, “Nigeria will be OK. – RMK”
His remarks come as opposition parties intensify efforts to establish their positions ahead of the 2027 presidential election, with questions surrounding possible alliances, candidate withdrawals and the ability of opposition platforms to challenge the ruling APC.
