According to the statement, FORAF works to advance socio-economic development, deepen decentralisation and strengthen the role of subnational governments in Africa’s integration and sustainable development.
In his acceptance remarks, AbdulRazaq called for stronger collaboration among African countries, regions and cities to drive economic growth and development.
He said greater investment in infrastructure, connectivity and regional partnerships would help unlock trade, innovation and inclusive growth across the continent.
“Africa has the capacity to do the same. By working together, investing in connectivity, and strengthening partnerships among our cities and regions, we can create sustainable linkages that support trade, innovation and inclusive growth,” he said.
He added that closer cooperation among African regions would expand economic opportunities, attract investment and accelerate continental integration.
