The Lagos State Government has announced the temporary closure of the Marine Bridge in Ijora, located in the Apapa Local Government Area, for 15 days to allow for essential maintenance work.
According to the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation, the closure will begin on Saturday, October 11, 2025, and is scheduled to end on Saturday, October 25, 2025.
The maintenance is aimed at addressing structural concerns and ensuring the safety and durability of the bridge, which serves as a major artery for vehicular traffic in the state.
The repair work, coordinated by the Federal Ministry of Works under the supervision of the Office of the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos, will be executed in two phases.
Phase one, from October 11 to 18, will cover the area near the bridge’s foot at Lawani Oguntayo Road by UBA, inbound Apapa/Costain.
