Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has eased the round-the-clock curfew earlier imposed on Lamurde Local Government Area.
The curfew was declared on the night of Saturday, the 12th of July, 2025, following an unending communal conflict in the area.
In a Monday afternoon statement shared with journalists, Fintiri’s Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, said:
“Following a thorough assessment of the security situation in the area, Governor Fintiri has directed the relaxation of the 24-hour curfew imposed on the area.
“As of now, residents are allowed to move freely from 6:00 am to 5:00 pm daily.”

Wonosikou added that the governor urged the people of Lamurde to use the curfew break to embrace calm and carry out their normal routines peacefully.
He said Fintiri had also instructed security agencies to sustain round-the-clock surveillance in the community to guarantee continued safety.
“The government appeals to residents to cooperate with security agencies and provide useful information that could aid peace efforts,” Wonosikou stated.
