A man identified as Emmanuel Obasi Okike has received ₦2 million from Ebonyi lawmaker after completing a trek from Ilorin in Kwara State to Abakaliki, the capital of Ebonyi State.
Okike, a constituent of the Ohanivo Federal Constituency, said he embarked on the journey to honour his representative in the House of Representatives, Hon. Nkemkama Kama, for what he described as impactful constituency projects.
He began the trek on August 25 and arrived in Abakaliki on September 10 after covering an estimated distance of 670 kilometres over 19 days.
Speaking on his motivation, Okike explained that the lawmaker had initiated development programmes across communities in the constituency, including solar-powered water projects, road rehabilitation, children’s educational support and unity-driven sports activities.
