The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, received a resounding reception on Sunday, the 28th of December, 2025, as he arrived in Rumuche, located within the Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State. The visit, characterized by a “mammoth crowd” of enthusiastic supporters, underscores the Minister’s enduring influence in his home state.
Minister Wike appearance in Emohua was designated as a “special Christmas visit,” serving as a centerpiece of his annual Yuletide homecoming.
As the year draws to a close, the Minister has been engaging in a series of community-focused events across the region to celebrate the festive season with his constituents.
The Sunday rally follows a busy Saturday, for the Minister in the Ahoada East Local Government Area. Key highlights of his recent activities include: Thanksgiving Attendance In Ochigba, Wike participated in a year-end thanksgiving service hosted by the former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Chibudom Nwuche.

The Minister utilized the visit to hold high-level consultations with key stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) within the district.
Beyond the festive celebrations, the visit took a significant political turn during the Minister’s address to party loyalists. Wike reaffirmed his political trajectory by publicly committing his support to President Bola Tinubu’s second term.
Notably, his speech included pointed remarks directed at others who have recently declared their loyalty to the administration, as he was seen “shading some new supporters of the president.”
