Military Troops Eliminate Bandit Kingpin, Others in Zamfara Raid

Troops of the Joint Task Force Operation Fasan Yamma, under the command of the 1 Brigade Mobile Strike Teams, have carried out a decisive offensive against terrorist hideouts west of Kaura Namoda (Daji Yamma) in Zamfara State’s Kaura Namoda Local Government Area.

In a statement released by the Coordinator of the Joint Media Coordination Center, Lt. Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, the military confirmed that its forces engaged the terrorists in a well-coordinated operation, successfully neutralizing several of them, including a notorious bandit leader identified as Babangida.

“The operation targeted the enclave of the infamous kingpin Dan Sa’adia. During the assault, numerous terrorists were eliminated through a combination of air and ground offensives,” the statement read.

Among the items recovered from the hideout were a locally made pistol, a locally made revolver, and a PKT magazine.

Additionally, troops raided another terrorist base in Gidan Rugga, seizing a pair of woodland camouflage uniforms, a pair of boots, and Baofeng radio chargers.

The military also announced the reopening of the Kungurki-Walo road, which had previously been blocked by terrorists, restoring access for local communities.

Operation Fasan Yamma reaffirmed its commitment to rooting out terrorism in the region and urged residents to support security forces in their efforts to restore lasting peace and stability.
