The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Thursday, July 9, 2026, arraigned the National President of Miyetti Allah Kauta Hore, Bello Bodejo, before the Federal High Court in Abuja over an alleged $2.63 million money laundering and terrorism financing case.
Bodejo was docked before Justice Inyang Ekwo on a 12-count charge alleging that he handled about $2.63 million linked to unlawful activities, contrary to the Money Laundering (Prevention and Prohibition) Act, 2022.
He pleaded not guilty to all counts after the charges were read.

Defence counsel Ahmed Raji (SAN) applied for bail, while the prosecution, led by Wahab Shittu (SAN), asked the court to determine the application in accordance with the law.
Justice Ekwo adjourned the case for a ruling on the bail application and the commencement of trial.
