Nigerian singer and former member of Psquare, Peter Okoye known as Mr P, has expressed the joy he now feels working as a solo artist and having to share proceeds from music with no one.
“Hundred percent, I am. I don’t have to share three ways. Call it greed or selfishness. It’s your own cup of tea. I share with nobody. Yes, my management and my team. Fine. But I’m doing my own thing. I’m freer,” Mr P said.
On his freedom, he said, “I’m making more money. Freedom is key. I can get a call that there’s a show next week and it’s my daughter’s birthday. I can say, ‘cancel it’. As a group, I couldn’t do that. Moneywise, if I used to share three ways, I share alone.”
Peter and Paul, the twin brothers who sang as Psquare, parted ways in 2017. The duo was very good then singing together. Their parting made many of their fans sad and till date, the twin brothers seem not to have resolved their differences.
