Popular reality TV star and dancer, Hermes Iyele, has opened up about his childhood, revealing how his mother was absent throughout his life and how his father’s love helped him navigate the emotional impact.

Speaking during an appearance on The Nancy Isime Show, Hermes disclosed that his mother’s absence left a deep emotional scar, especially during his formative years.

“One significant thing I think affected me a lot was not having my mum around… She was absent my entire life,” he said.

The former Big Brother Naija housemate recalled moments in school when other children were visited by their mothers, a reality that often left him longing for maternal affection and visibility.

“I would be in school and see people’s mums come for PTA and I will feel like, oh my God, my mum is so pretty… if she came here I would have so many friends,” he added.
