The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State says it has no doubt Governor Ademola Adeleke will win re-election in 2026, claiming the race will be a “walk in the park” regardless of who the opposition presents.
In a statement released by Oladele Bamiji, the party’s Director of Media, the PDP took aim at the rising number of All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirants, calling the trend “amusing” and dismissing it as “a parade of political irrelevance.”
“Osun is not a rehabilitation centre for serial election losers and self-serving political actors,” Bamiji said.
He questioned the motives behind the renewed APC ambition to reclaim power in the state, asking, “What exactly did they leave behind at the Abere government secretariat that now fuels their desperation? Is it the backlog of unpaid salaries, the plight of neglected pensioners, or the crushed hopes of teachers and local government workers under their watch?”
According to the PDP, Adeleke’s government has prioritized the welfare of the people, and any attempt to sway voters with memories of a difficult past would fail.

The party argued that no APC candidate can easily erase the record of “failure, deceit, and arrogance” associated with their previous rule.
“They must be ready to face pensioners and explain why their pain went unanswered. They owe explanations to local government workers whose funds were slashed under their leadership and are still being withheld by the APC-led federal government today,” Bamiji added.
Reacting to recent criticism from opposition media channels, he said the attacks were baseless.
“Throwing insults at a performing governor does not equate to popularity or credibility. The people of Osun no longer vote for deceptive noise; they vote for results they can see,” he said.
