Tragedy struck Ogale community in Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State on Sunday after an entire family was discovered dead inside their residence under unexplained circumstances.
The victims were identified as Mr. Obele Theophilus, his wife, their children, and a brother-in-law. Reports indicate that the family retired to bed on Saturday night, January 10, 2026, but failed to wake up the following morning.
According to information shared by Port Harcourt Specials on Monday, neighbours became alarmed when the family’s door remained firmly locked well into the morning hours of Sunday.
By about 10:00 a.m., repeated attempts to get a response from inside the house proved unsuccessful.
Concerned residents reportedly forced the door open, only to be met with a grim scene. Mr. Theophilus and the children were found lying motionless on a bed, while the wife’s body was discovered in the bathroom.

The brother-in-law was found close to the entrance, raising suspicions that he may have attempted to open the door before collapsing.
As of the time of this report, the cause of death has not been established, and no official statement has been issued by the police or other relevant authorities.
Residents of the community remain in shock as they await the commencement of investigations to unravel the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
