NABTEB Releases 2025 NBC/NTC Results, Records Improved Performance

The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) has released the 2025 June/July National Business Certificate (NBC) and National Technical Certificate (NTC) results, reporting an increase in candidate performance and a decline in examination malpractice.

According to Dr. Mohammed Aminu Mohammed, NABTEB’s Registrar and Chief Executive Officer, 92,875 candidates registered for the exams held nationwide between June 16 and July 17, 2025, across 1,892 centres, with 89,621 candidates graded, representing a 96.5% grading rate.

The number of candidates rose by 37.08% compared to 67,751 candidates in 1,708 centres in 2024.

In subject performance, Mathematics recorded a 94.60% pass rate, with 81,172 of 85,805 candidates passing, while English Language had a 93.10% pass rate, with 79,575 of 85,476 candidates passing.

These results show a slight improvement in Mathematics compared to 2024 and a small drop in English Language.

Overall, 61,104 candidates (68.18%) obtained five credits and above, including English Language and Mathematics, while 74,633 candidates (83.28%) achieved five credits and above with or without English and Mathematics.

This compares to 65.34% in 2024 who obtained five credits and above including English and Mathematics.

NABTEB also recorded 516 cases of examination malpractice involving 435 candidates, a decrease from 524 cases involving 349 candidates in 2024, signalling a positive trend in reducing misconduct.

Dr. Mohammed highlighted the importance of technical and vocational education in tackling youth unemployment and called on policymakers to prioritise skills acquisition.

He also announced that registration for the 2025 November/December NBC/NTC and Advanced NBC/NTC examinations has commenced, urging candidates to visit the NABTEB portal or any State or Zonal office for guidance.
