Organisers of the World Jollof Festival have confirmed a change of venue for Hilda Baci’s attempt to cook the world’s largest pot of jollof rice.
The announcement was made on Thursday, September 11, 2025, via Hilda Baci’s official Instagram and Facebook accounts.
The event is now scheduled to take place at Eko Hotel Car Park B, Lagos.
The venue change, from its original location at Muri Okunola Park, Victoria Island, was prompted by overwhelming public interest, with organisers noting that more than 20,000 people had registered to attend.
The new location is expected to better accommodate the crowd and provide the logistical support required for the record-breaking attempt.
The festival, which celebrates West African culinary culture, is expected to attract food enthusiasts, celebrities, and international media.
Baci, Nigeria’s acclaimed chef and Guinness World Record aspirant, aims to set a new benchmark in culinary achievement with her jollof rice preparation.

Speaking on the upcoming event, Baci said,

Organisers emphasised that the schedule and programme remain unchanged despite the venue shift, assuring that all arrangements have been adjusted to ensure the record attempt proceeds smoothly.
The festival continues to highlight Nigeria’s growing reputation as a hub for culinary tourism, while Baci’s record attempt reinforces the international appeal of West African cuisine.
