The Nigerian Air Force on Saturday, February 14, 2026, honoured its immediate past Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar (Rtd), with a Flying-Out Parade at NAF Base Bill Clinton Drive, marking the end of a tenure defined by reform, professionalism, and institutional growth.
During his nearly two-and-a-half-year leadership, Abubakar oversaw the induction of 15 aircraft, reactivation of legacy platforms, and completion of 589 infrastructure projects nationwide.
Key safety upgrades included the installation of an Instrument Landing System at NAF Base Kaduna, while the HQ NAF Annex at Gudu highlighted the Service’s expanded operational capability.

At the ceremony, Abubakar paid tribute to fallen personnel and the families whose sacrifices support operational readiness.
He credited the achievements of his tenure to collective effort, including the support of his wife, Dr Rakiya Abubakar, and colleagues.
He also commended progress under the current Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, reaffirming his lifelong commitment to Nigeria’s unity, security, and sovereignty.
