The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has warned Nigerians about counterfeit Kiss condoms circulating in markets nationwide, describing the products as a serious public health threat.
The alert, issued on Monday, 29 December 2025, through Public Alert No. 042/2025, follows reports from DKT International Nigeria, the authorised distributor of Kiss condoms, that falsified products have appeared in major commercial centres.
NAFDAC identified Onitsha Market, Idumota Market, and Trade Fair Market as key locations where fake condoms were discovered, with additional reports from Kano, Abuja, Uyo, Gombe, Enugu, and other states.
The agency cautioned that the counterfeit products do not meet safety or quality standards, putting users at increased risk of sexually transmitted infections and unintended pregnancies.

Consumers are urged to buy condoms only from licensed pharmacies or trusted retailers, check packaging carefully for authenticity, and report suspicious products to NAFDAC immediately.
“This alert underscores our commitment to protect public health and prevent the spread of falsified medical products,” the agency said.
NAFDAC reaffirmed its vigilance in monitoring and enforcing standards to ensure that all health products in circulation in Nigeria meet regulatory approval.
