NAHCON Sets Stage For Smooth 2026 Hajj Operations

The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Ismail Abba, has reiterated the commission’s commitment to improving efficiency in the delivery of pilgrims’ services ahead of the next Hajj season.

Abba made the remarks on Friday during a strategic meeting in Abuja with officials of Mashariq Aldhahabiya, led by its Board Chairman, Mohammed Andangiri.

The Saudi-based company manages services provided to Nigerian pilgrims under the government quota in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

According to a statement issued by NAHCON, Abba noted that lessons had been learnt from challenges faced during the 2025 Hajj, including data mismatches between flight manifests, contract numbers, and accommodation allocations, which disrupted the smooth processing of pilgrims.

Both parties agreed to prioritise strict visa processing timelines, accurate data uploads, and verification of accommodation contracts before departure.

NAHCON also plans to intensify compliance checks at departure centres to ensure flight manifests and building allocations match approved records.

The commission further revealed that a joint Situation Room would be established to provide real-time updates and swiftly address operational issues as they arise.

The engagement is part of NAHCON’s broader strategy to ensure a smooth and well-coordinated Hajj operation for Nigerian pilgrims.
