Nasarawa United climbed to the summit of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) table on Sunday after securing a 2-0 victory over Katsina United in a Matchday 6 encounter at the Lafia City Stadium.
The Solid Miners took the lead just before halftime when Yusuf A. struck in the first minute of added time (45+1), sending the home crowd into wild celebrations.
The win was sealed in the 72nd minute when Abdullahi A. found the back of the net to make it 2-0, ensuring all three points for the Lafia-based side.
Elsewhere in the NPFL, Barau FC recorded their first-ever top-flight league victory with an impressive 3-1 away win over Kun Khalifa.

In Warri, Shooting Stars edged Warri Wolves 2-1 in a tense battle, while Wikki Tourists were held to a thrilling 2-2 draw by Rangers International.
Ikorodu City also shared the spoils with Enyimba in Lagos after their clash ended 1-1.
With the win, Nasarawa United now sit at the top of the NPFL standings as the race for early-season dominance heats up.
