The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has uncovered new smuggling tactics by drug traffickers, who are now concealing illicit substances in everyday consumer products such as yoghurt packs and MP3 players.
The discovery was disclosed in a statement on Sunday, by the agency’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, shared on his official X handle.
According to Babafemi, NDLEA operatives intercepted consignments of methamphetamine cleverly hidden inside Hollandia yoghurt packs and MP3 players during recent operations, highlighting evolving narco-trafficking methods used by criminal networks.
He warned law-abiding citizens to be cautious while travelling and to avoid collecting parcels or luggage from anyone, whether for local or international trips.
