The Faculty of Law of the Niger Delta University in Bayelsa has received a major boost in its teaching and learning facilities following the donation of smart projectors and electric screens by a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), the Goldcoast Developmental Foundation.
The ICT-driven items, which have since been installed and commissioned for use, are expected to enhance interactive learning for students and ease teaching for lecturers in the faculty.
Speaking during the commissioning, the President of the NGO, Dr. Moses Oruaze Dickson, explained that the donation was inspired by his personal experience as a newly engaged lecturer in the Faculty of Law.
He noted that he observed the need for improved teaching aids and felt compelled to intervene through his NGO.
“This gesture is part of our commitment to give back to society, particularly in areas that foster knowledge and national development and ensure that we impact the faculty better than it was when I was a student here,” he said.
He thanked all who have in their way impacted the faculty so far and appealed further to other well-meaning individuals, especially alumni of the institution and relevant government agencies, like the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), to support efforts at upgrading the university’s infrastructure.
The Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Gogo George Otuturu, while expressing appreciation, described the donation as timely and transformative.

Represented by Mr. Kehinde Slaboh, the Faculty Officer, he noted that the equipment would significantly improve the delivery of lectures and encourage greater student participation in class.
On their part, the President of the Law Students Association of Nigeria (LAWSAN) at the institution, Akajele Joseph-Ubonsozibe, the Secretary-General, Emmanuel Bassey and Financial Secretary, Akpochimara Joy, all lauded the NGO for the effort to impact the learning experience for their colleagues.
They described the gesture as a visionary intervention that bridges the gap between modern teaching technology and the needs of students and also pledged to make maximum use of the facilities to justify the confidence reposed in them.
With the new installations, both lecturers and students are expected to benefit from a more engaging and technologically equipped learning environment in tune with global standards.
Also present during the donation were Barr. Ewo Azibanagbal Adviser to the Goldcoast Developmental Foundation and one of its volunteers, Mr. Uchechi Chijioke.
