Nigerian Girl Tops Global English Contest, Beats 69 Countries

A 17-year-old girl from Yobe State, Nafisat Aminu, has outshined over 20,000 students from 69 countries to clinch first place in English Language at the TeenEagle Global Finals in London.

Her victory, confirmed in results released Monday, the 4th of August, 2025, places Nigeria at the forefront of global academic excellence.

Nafisat’s triumph came on the same day President Bola Tinubu awarded $100,000 each to the Super Falcons and D’Tigeress for winning top continental titles in women’s football and basketball.

While the athletes brought glory on the field, Nafisat raised the flag high in the classroom reminding the world of the power of Nigerian youth.
