Political affairs analyst Mojeed Dahiru has said that Nigeria’s diversity as a multi-religious nation requires equal respect and protection for the rights of adherents of all faiths.
Dahiru stated this on Tuesday while speaking at the 2026 First Daily National Dialogue on Insecurity in Abuja.
According to him, no religious group should have its rights undermined, stressing that mutual respect, tolerance and inclusion are essential for promoting national unity and addressing the country’s security challenges.
He noted that Nigeria’s religious diversity should be seen as a source of strength rather than division, urging leaders at all levels to ensure fairness and equal treatment for citizens irrespective of their religious beliefs.

Dahiru further emphasised that peaceful coexistence among people of different faiths is critical to achieving lasting peace and stability, adding that intolerance and discrimination can fuel tensions that undermine national security.
The political analyst called on government, religious leaders and other stakeholders to continue promoting interfaith dialogue and understanding as part of broader efforts to foster unity and reduce conflict across the country.
