Public affairs commentator, Frank Tietie has said that anyone who poses a threat to Nigeria’s security should be held accountable in accordance with the law, regardless of their status or influence.
Tietie made this known on Tuesday while speaking at the 2026 First Daily National Dialogue on Insecurity in Abuja.
According to him, Nigeria’s security challenges require firm and impartial enforcement of the law against individuals or groups whose actions undermine national peace and stability.
He stressed that the country must not tolerate activities capable of threatening its sovereignty or endangering the lives of its citizens, adding that those found culpable should “face the music.”

During his presentation, Tietie also criticised some prominent Nigerians, including Ahmad Gumi, over what he described as their roles or public positions on issues relating to insecurity.
He argued that influential figures should use their platforms to promote peace, national unity and respect for the rule of law rather than actions or statements that could deepen divisions or embolden criminal elements.
He also called on the government and security agencies to remain steadfast in enforcing the law fairly and without bias, while urging all Nigerians to support efforts aimed at restoring peace and security across the country.
