Ibrahim Chatta, a prominent Nollywood actor, has announced the death of his son, plunging his family and fans into mourning.
The actor broke the news on Saturday, September 6, 2025, through a post on his official Instagram page, where he shared his late son’s picture alongside a heartfelt message.
He wrote:
“Inna liLlahi wa inna ileyhi rajiun. Ya Allah, You are the Knower of all things. Rest on, Dear Son. Champ💔💔💔💔💔.”
The announcement has since drawn an outpouring of condolences from colleagues in the movie industry and fans across social media platforms, many expressing shock and sadness at the tragic development.
This loss comes only months after Chatta publicly recounted the heartbreaking story of losing his first child years ago during his early struggles.
In June 2025, he revealed that his daughter died because he could not afford hospital treatment at the time.

The situation forced him to bury her in a wooden Coca-Cola crate, an experience he described as one of the most painful moments of his life.

Ibrahim Chatta, who has three surviving children, is widely respected in Nollywood for his acting career spanning decades.
