Nollywood actress Aunty Ajara, widely admired for her work in Yoruba films, has sadly passed away after a prolonged illness.
The announcement of her death came early on Thursday, the 5th of February, 2026, leaving fans and colleagues mourning her loss.
The petite actress had been struggling with liver-related health issues for several weeks. As her condition worsened, colleagues and well-wishers called for donations to support her treatment.
Just last week, efforts to raise funds for her care intensified, reflecting the deep concern of the Nollywood community.
Earlier this week, fellow actress Mama Nonetwork provided an emotional update on Aunty Ajara’s health, revealing that “Aunty Ajara’s condition is not improving.” Mama Nonetwork also disclosed that Aunty Ajara was pregnant, a development discovered in December 2025.
Medical professionals advised immediate attention due to her “fragile health.”
Despite the outpouring of support, Aunty Ajara’s health continued to decline. Her brother, Ridwan Lasisi, confirmed her passing and expressed gratitude to fans and colleagues who had contributed toward her treatment. He urged the public to stop sending money, saying, “the one we are contributing for her sake is no more.”
