The Nigerian entertainment industry has been plunged into mourning following the confirmed death of popular Nollywood actor and model, Alexx Ekubo. He was 40 years old.

According to reports, the award-winning actor passed away on Tuesday afternoon, May 12, 2026, at a hospital where he was reportedly receiving treatment for health complications.

While official statements from the family are still expected, industry sources indicate that Ekubo had been battling a prolonged illness. Reports suggest he had been on life support for several hours before he was pronounced dead on Tuesday.
