Notorious Bandit Kingpin Sani Yellow killed In Zamfara

A popular notorious bandit commander, Sani Yellow, who operates in Zamfara, has been killed in Anka LGA of the state.

A video cited by First Daily correspondent on Sunday shows what appears to be Yellow’s lifeless body being dragged through a street after his death.

However, conflicting accounts have emerged over the circumstances surrounding how the notorious bandit leader was killed.

According to Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency expert, Yellow was shot dead on Friday at Dan Jibga market in Anka LGA by armed men believed to be loyal to rival bandit kingpin Dogo Gide.

It was gathered that the attackers ambushed him in broad daylight while he was reportedly carrying out activities at the market, describing the killing as another sign of the rivalry among bandit factions competing for territory and influence in Zamfara.

Another account, however, attributed Yellow’s death to a recent security operation in Anka LGA.

In a post shared by Zagagola Magama claimed the bandit commander was killed during a coordinated operation involving security personnel and members of the Maiduguri Special Vigilantes deployed to support ongoing counter-banditry operations in the state.
