The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced that its online ticketing platform for the Abuja–Kaduna Train Service is now live, enabling passengers to book and pay for tickets ahead of the service’s resumption on October 1.
In a statement issued on Tuesday in Lagos, NRC’s Chief Public Relations Officer, Callistus Unyimadu, urged travelers to make use of the online portal — https://nrc.tps.ng — or visit designated stations to secure their tickets in advance.
Unyimadu disclosed that the travel time on the route has been shortened following a review of the Temporary Speed Restriction (TSR), a move aimed at improving operational efficiency.
The revised timetable indicates departure from Idu, Abuja at 8:45 a.m., with a stopover at Kubwa at 9:10 a.m. before arrival at Rigasa, Kaduna at 11:47 a.m.
The return trip from Rigasa is scheduled for 2:30 p.m., with arrival at Kubwa by 5:12 p.m. and Idu by 5:32 p.m.

He further appreciated the patience of commuters during the suspension of services and assured that safety, comfort, and customer satisfaction remain central to NRC’s operations.
The train service had been temporarily halted following the derailment of a passenger train on August 26, which left several carriages overturned and caused panic among passengers.
According to the corporation, comprehensive safety, technical, and operational checks have since been carried out to guarantee smooth operations.
