Nwoko Funds 1,500 Free JAMB Registrations Across Delta North

Senator Ned Nwoko has announced the successful completion of a Free JAMB UTME Registration Exercise for 1,500 prospective candidates across Delta North, describing the initiative as a strategic investment in the future of the district’s youth.

In a statement shared via his X account on Saturday, Nwoko said the programme was deliberately designed to expand access to higher education by easing the financial burden associated with registration for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

According to him, beneficiaries were drawn from the nine local government areas that make up Delta North — Aniocha North, Aniocha South, Ika North East, Ika South, Ndokwa West, Ndokwa East, Oshimili North, Oshimili South and Ukwuani.

“Through this programme, 1,500 prospective JAMB candidates… have been supported, reaffirming our collective commitment to the advancement of education in our district,” he stated.

The senator emphasized that the initiative extends beyond covering registration fees, noting that it represents an investment in the aspirations and long-term potential of young people in the region.

“This effort goes beyond registration. It represents an investment in the aspirations, potential, and future of our youths. By easing financial constraints, we continue to empower determined students to pursue their academic goals with confidence,” Nwoko added.

Education advocates in the district have long identified examination and registration costs as a barrier for students from low-income households.

Programmes such as this, observers say, can provide a critical boost for families struggling with economic pressures.

Nwoko also commended the beneficiaries for what he described as their ambition and resilience, while appreciating individuals and partners who contributed to the seamless execution of the exercise.

“Our resolve to create pathways for growth and opportunity across Delta North remains unwavering,” he said.

The initiative adds to a growing trend of education-focused interventions by public office holders aimed at improving access to tertiary education and supporting youth development in Nigeria.
