Oba of Lagos calls for patience, prayer for Tinubu’s govt

The Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, has urged Nigerians to exercise patience and offer prayers for President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

He spoke during a recent visit by Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu to his palace in Iga Idugaran, Lagos.

In a statement released by Mrs. Tinubu’s spokesperson, Busola Kukoyi, on Tuesday, Oba Akiolu emphasized Tinubu’s genuine commitment to the nation, highlighting his grassroots-focused governance approach.

“Let us pray for Nigeria and our President. We should be patient. Everything good requires prayers,” Oba Akiolu remarked during the visit.

The Oba of Lagos also counseled Nigerian youths to deepen their faith in God, acknowledging their inherent diligence and industrious nature.

“While some youths may exhibit laziness and expect to be catered to, they should be taught to fish rather than wait for fish,” he added.

Expressing gratitude for the Oba’s continuous support and guidance, Mrs. Tinubu assured him of President Tinubu’s dedication to the country.

“I can assure you that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is committed to the success of Nigeria. He loves Nigeria and Nigerians dearly and will spare no effort for their welfare,” she affirmed.

Mrs. Tinubu also pledged that Lagos State representatives would advocate for the Oba’s request for special status for the state.

The visit underscored the enduring bond between the Tinubu family and the traditional institution in Lagos, reinforcing mutual support and aspirations for the nation’s progress.
