Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has declared that Nigeria’s leadership responsibilities remain incomplete, stressing that the nation’s journey toward its full potential is far from over.

He made the remarks during the public presentation of former Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido’s autobiography, Being True to Myself, held at the NAF Conference Centre in Abuja.

Obasanjo, speaking to an audience of political figures and dignitaries, urged Lamido and other experienced leaders not to retreat from national service, asserting that their collective work is still needed.

“Nigeria that we are working for, we haven’t gotten there,” the former President said. “And I believe it is the responsibility of each of us to ensure that we get there. Our job is not finished until we are finished.”

The statement was received with applause and noted as a call for renewed commitment from past and present leaders to continue contributing to national development, despite having left formal office.
