The wife of Delta State content creator, Ifeanyi Ogbonna, popularly known as Odogwu of Asaba, has rejected allegations that her husband raped 20-year-old Favour Agbro, insisting that he only had an affair with the deceased.
The woman, whose identity was not disclosed, spoke in a video posted on her husband’s social media page on Wednesday, saying she remained fully supportive of him despite the allegations surrounding Favour’s death.
Ogbonna, 40, was arrested by the Delta State Police Command over the alleged rape of Favour, who later died after ingesting a toxic substance.
According to the police, Ogbonna allegedly invited Favour to Asaba on the pretext of training her in content creation before taking her to a hotel, where he was accused of raping and physically assaulting her.
However, Ogbonna’s wife dismissed the allegation in the video, saying, “Odogwu Asaba did not kill anybody. I know my husband…. Odogwu Asaba did not rape Favour. Odogwu Asaba only had an affair with the girl.”
She added, “He cannot rape, he has never. Even when he did not have fame, he did not rape anybody, is it now?”
The woman said she had deliberately taken time to understand the circumstances surrounding the case before making a public statement.
“I am trying to follow the matter the right way; I have not been silent. I want to let you people know that no matter what happened, he is my husband and I stand with him 100%. I’m not going to turn my back on him,” she said.
She cautioned against relying on social media narratives to determine guilt or innocence, stressing that the case should be allowed to follow due process.
“How I feel, what I feel, how I see it is my personal decision. Everything is not actually the way they presented it. Before I could come out to talk, I have learnt a lot about this matter. Social media is not a courtroom. You people should bear that in mind,” she said.

Acknowledging the death of Favour, she said the seriousness of the incident was why she had chosen to approach the matter carefully.
“Yes, someone has died and that is why we are taking it easy. But Odogwu Asaba did not kill anybody,” she said.
She further stated that her husband would present his own side of the story when he returns.
The woman disclosed that she and Ogbonna had been married for eight years and had four children together.
The police had earlier stated that Favour travelled to Asaba on June 1, 2026, following an alleged offer from Ogbonna to teach her how to monetise her TikTok and Facebook accounts through content creation.
The command said Favour later returned home distressed and told her parents about the alleged incident before making a video in which she recounted her experience.
She subsequently ingested a toxic substance and died while undergoing treatment.
According to the police, Ogbonna’s arrest followed a petition submitted by Favour’s family, while investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident continued.
The command later announced that the content creator would be charged to court.
Ogbonna has not been convicted of any offence, and the rape allegation remains under investigation and subject to determination through the appropriate legal process.
