Ogun Police Elevate 541 Officers To ASP

The Ogun State Police Command has advanced 541 personnel to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP, in a statewide promotion exercise.

The Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, described the elevation as a reward for diligence, discipline, and loyalty to service. He said the exercise reflects the Force’s commitment to merit and institutional standards.

The decoration ceremony took place simultaneously at the command headquarters, area commands, divisions, and other formations across Ogun State on Monday, the 2nd of March, 2026.

In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi, the command said the promotion will reinforce its leadership base and boost operational strength. It added that the new rank not only honours dedication but also places greater responsibility on the officers.

The Commissioner thanked the families of the beneficiaries for their patience and support over the years.

He urged the newly promoted ASPs to maintain strict discipline, professionalism, and accountability, and to deepen intelligence-driven policing in efforts to sustain peace and security in the state.
