Okpebholo Celebrates Oba of Benin’s Legacy of Peace, Unity at 9th Coronation Anniversary

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has congratulated the Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty Oba Ewuare II, on the occasion of his birthday and ninth coronation anniversary.

In a statement issued on Monday in Benin City by his Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua, the governor commended the monarch’s unwavering commitment to preserving the rich cultural heritage of the Edo people and his exemplary leadership since ascending the throne of his forebears.

Okpebholo described the Oba as a unique and visionary ruler whose reign has been marked by peace, progress, and unity within the Benin Kingdom and across Edo State.

“On behalf of the government and the good people of Edo, I convey my regards and prayers to our father, His Royal Majesty, Oba Ewuare II, on his birthday and 9th coronation anniversary,” the governor stated.

He lauded the monarch’s efforts in promoting peace, combating societal ills, and fostering harmony among residents, noting that his influence continues to serve as a moral and cultural guide for the state’s ‘New Edo’ agenda.

“His presence provides a vital moral and cultural compass for our administration’s ‘New Edo’ agenda,” Okpebholo said.

The governor prayed for the Oba’s continued good health, strength, and long reign, while pledging his administration’s continued partnership with the Benin Royal Palace in advancing the welfare and prosperity of Edo people.

“I pledge my continued respect and support to the Benin Royal Palace and will work tirelessly with His Royal Majesty to ensure a prosperous future for all Edo residents,” he added.
