Oluremi Tinubu To Preach At Lambeth Palace During UK Visit

Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, is set to preach at Lambeth Palace on Thursday as part of activities marking President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ongoing state visit to the United Kingdom.

Lambeth Palace, the official residence of the Archbishop of Canterbury, holds deep historical and spiritual significance within the Church of England, making the First Lady’s scheduled engagement a notable highlight of the visit.

According to the official itinerary, Mrs Tinubu will also meet with representatives of the Church of England, further underscoring the faith-based dimension of the diplomatic trip.

President Tinubu and the First Lady arrived in London on Tuesday via Stansted Airport, ahead of a series of high-level engagements aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between Nigeria and the United Kingdom. The visit is Nigeria’s first state visit to the UK in nearly four decades.

Key events lined up include meetings with King Charles III and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, alongside interactions with members of the Nigerian diaspora.

Mrs Tinubu, an ordained pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has remained actively involved in faith-based outreach and women’s empowerment initiatives in Nigeria, lending additional context to her role during the visit.

Her scheduled sermon at Lambeth Palace is expected to symbolise not only spiritual engagement but also the cultural and religious ties that continue to shape diplomatic relations between both nations.

Observers note that the inclusion of religious and community-focused activities in the itinerary reflects a broader approach to diplomacy—one that combines governance, culture, and faith in strengthening international partnerships.
