Omokri Concludes Senate Screening, Extends Gratitude to Lawmakers

Ambassadorial nominee Reno Omokri has thanked Senate members following his successful completion of the screening process before the red chamber’s Committee on Foreign Affairs on Thursday, the 11th of December, 2025.

Omokri, utilizing his verified X (formerly Twitter) platform shortly after concluding the screening, publicly acknowledged several key figures who participated in the exercise.

He specifically expressed gratitude to Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele; the committee’s chairman, Senator Sani Bello; and several members who participated in his screening.

The former presidential aide also made a point to acknowledge senators Adams Oshiomhole and Ali Ndume, who earlier clashed during deliberations on his nomination. This specific mention suggests a recognition of the preceding political context surrounding his candidacy.

In his post, Omokri affirmed his respect for the institution, writing: “From the bottom of my heart, I sincerely thank the Distinguished Senate Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, Distinguished Senator Sani Bello, and members of the committee, especially Distinguished Senators Adams Oshiomhole and Ali Ndume. “The Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is indeed a place of honour,” he wrote.

Omokri’s statement thus marks a formal expression of appreciation to the legislative body following the crucial step in his confirmation process.
