Osimhen Strikes Again as Galatasaray Cruise Past Rizespor

Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen was on target once more as Galatasaray secured a 3-1 win over Rizespor on Saturday to continue their flawless start to the Süper Lig season.

The hosts took the lead in the 20th minute when Colombian defender Davinson Sánchez rose highest to head home Gabriel Sara’s corner.

Rizespor thought they had drawn level before the break through Dal Varesanovic, but VAR intervened to rule the effort offside.

Galatasaray restored their grip on the match in the second half, with Osimhen delivering the breakthrough.

The Super Eagles striker powered in a header in the 65th minute to put his side back in control, registering his second league goal of the campaign.

Argentine star Mauro Icardi then put the result beyond doubt, finishing off a quick counterattack in stoppage time after being set up by Barış Alper Yılmaz.

The victory means Galatasaray have now recorded four straight wins, keeping them joint top of the standings with 12 points from their opening four matches.

Osimhen, who had also scored in their 4-0 win over Kayserispor earlier in the month, looks to be settling quickly into life in Turkey following his high-profile summer move.
