The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has rejected Saturday’s Osun governorship election, alleging vote-buying, violence, intimidation and attempts to manipulate results.
The party’s Gubernatorial Campaign Council spokesperson, Nurein Adebisi, said in a statement that the alleged irregularities occurred in parts of the state’s 30 local government areas.
Adebisi alleged that suspected All Progressives Congress (APC) agents offered voters cash and food items at some polling locations, while also accusing the party of attempting to suppress results from ADC strongholds and influence figures during collation.
He cited alleged disruptions in Ikire, Iree in Boripe Local Government Area, Ilesa and Ejigbo.

In Ilesa, Adebisi alleged that suspected political thugs attacked voters and party agents, disrupted voting and seized mobile phones to prevent the incidents from being documented.
The allegations came amid reports of isolated disturbances and voter-inducement complaints in parts of the state, although voting proceeded peacefully in several locations.
The ADC’s claims remain allegations pending independent verification.
With counting and collation underway, attention now shifts to the official results and reports from electoral authorities and accredited observers, which will determine the final assessment of the August 15 poll.
