Otti Restored Our Dignity – Abia Traditional Rulers’ Council Chair

The Chairman of the Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers, Eze Linus Nto Mbah, has commended Governor Alex Otti for restoring the status and improving the welfare of traditional rulers in the state.

Speaking on Saturday in Atlanta, Georgia, during an event with the Old Bende Progressive Union, Eze Nto Mbah reflected on the tough conditions traditional rulers endured under previous administrations, largely due to poor support from the government.

“Since the inception of Governor Alex Otti’s government, the traditional rulers’ dignity has been restored with the Abia traditional rulers receiving the highest stipend in the South East,” he said.

He noted that the stipends paid to traditional leaders in the past were not in line with their responsibilities. He credited the Otti-led government for addressing that gap and ensuring traditional rulers now get what reflects their roles.

He encouraged members of the Old Bende Progressive Union and other Abians living abroad to return and invest in the state, citing improvements in road infrastructure, security, and general development across both urban and rural areas.

The royal father also praised the Governor for avoiding loans to fund projects and urged Abians in the diaspora to rally behind Otti’s 2027 re-election bid.
