Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has approved the immediate dissolution of boards, commissions and parastatals across the state.
The governor also terminated the appointments of political appointees, including Special Assistants, Senior Special Assistants and Technical Assistants.
The decisions were announced in a statement issued on Sunday by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode.
According to the statement, the move is part of the administration’s preparations for Oyebanji’s second term, following his re-election as governor in the June 20 governorship election.
Oyebanji is scheduled to be inaugurated for his second term on October 16.
However, the dissolution does not affect statutory bodies such as the State Independent Electoral Commission, Civil Service Commission, House of Assembly Service Commission and Judicial Service Commission.

The governing councils of Ekiti State-owned tertiary institutions will also remain in place, in line with the governor’s earlier directives.
The chairmen of the State Universal Basic Education Board, Local Government Service Commission and Teaching Service Commission are equally unaffected and will continue in their positions, although the boards they head have been dissolved.
The governor’s Directors-General and Technical Advisers are also exempted from the termination of appointments.
Oyebanji thanked the affected appointees for their contributions to his administration and service to Ekiti State.
He also wished them success in their future endeavours.
