The All Progressives Congress has secured victory in all 17 Local Government Areas in the Enugu State council election held on Saturday.
The Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission announced the results on Sunday at its headquarters in Enugu, with its Chairman, Professor Christian Ngwu, declaring the APC candidates winners across the state.
The election produced chairmen for the state’s 17 local government councils and councillors for 260 wards.
According to ENSIEC, the APC recorded the highest number of votes in each of the 17 local government areas.

The declared winners were subsequently presented with their certificates of return, formally confirming their emergence as the next set of elected local government leaders in the state.
The result marks a major change from the previous Enugu council election, when the Peoples Democratic Party won all 17 chairmanship positions and all 260 councillorship seats in the 2024 poll.
The 2026 election was conducted on September 26 following preparations by ENSIEC, which had earlier announced that the exercise would cover all 17 local government areas and 260 wards.
