A fresh face-off between factions of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, is currently brewing following the expulsion of key leaders. Tensions are escalating as the expelled members of the party set to hold an emergency meeting at the party’s National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja.
This bold move comes swiftly on the heels of the party’s disciplinary action. The document recalls that the PDP on Saturday, the 15th of November, 2025, suspended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike, Senator Samuel Anyanwu and other members loyal to the former Rivers Governor.
The announcement of their expulsion was announced during the just concluded National Elective Convention that took place in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

In a defiant response, a notice was issued just two days later. A notice issued on Monday, the 17th of November, by the factional National Secretary of the party, Samuel Anyanwu called for an emergency meeting barely 48 hours after their expulsion.
The communiqué, which was seen by reporters, specifically urged members of the National Executive Council, NEC and Board of Trustees, BoT, to attend the meeting scheduled for Tuesday, the 18th of November, It concluded by stressing the urgency and gravity of the gathering, stating that “attendance is very important as crucial matters will be discussed and addressed.”
