Former Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, has dismissed claims that the Peoples Democratic Party is collapsing, insisting that the ongoing internal crisis will ultimately leave the party stronger.
Saraki spoke on Friday, December 19, in Ilorin, Kwara State, at a PDP Youth Summit organised by the state chapter to mark his 63rd birthday.
Addressing concerns that the PDP is in disarray, he argued that disagreements are part of any serious political organisation and can be a source of renewal rather than decay.
“Many people say our party is in shambles. I disagree. Sometimes, it is better to disagree than to agree and stagnate. I believe the PDP will succeed,” Saraki said.
He revealed that efforts were already underway to resolve the internal rift, adding that both camps within the party were engaging with the Independent National Electoral Commission.

“As I speak, the two factions of the PDP are meeting with INEC. I want to assure members that our differences will be sorted out very soon,” he said.
Saraki used the platform to call on political leaders to take youth development more seriously, warning that Nigeria’s future depends on the opportunities created for young people.
“We must play our roles in creating opportunities for the youths to build this country,” he said.
Speaking directly to the youths at the summit, he urged them to stop standing on the sidelines and instead become central players in governance and national development.
“You are our future. We believe in you, and you must believe in yourselves. You must be participants in nation-building, not spectators,” he added.
