Peter Obi Emerges Sole Presidential Aspirant Of NDC For 2027 Election

Former Anambra State governor, Peter Obi, has emerged as the sole presidential aspirant of the Nigeria Democratic Congress ahead of the 2027 general election.

The development comes after the party officially closed the sale of its Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for the presidential ticket.

Sources who spoke with Vanguard disclosed that Obi was the only aspirant who purchased the forms before the deadline, effectively making him the party’s lone contender for the ticket.

The former Labour Party presidential candidate has remained a prominent figure in Nigeria’s political space since the 2023 general election, where he gained widespread support, particularly among young Nigerians.
