PFN President Wale Oke Mourns Gospel Icon Ron Kenoly

The President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Bishop Wale Oke, has mourned the passing of celebrated gospel singer and worship leader, Ron Kenoly, describing his death as a great loss to the global Christian community.

In a heartfelt tribute, posted on his Instagram handle on Tuesday, the 3rd of February, 2026, Bishop Oke praised the late music minister as a “true worshipper,” saying his life, ministry, and calling were completely devoted to the service and glory of God.

“Farewell to a true worshipper, Ron Kenoly,” the PFN president wrote. “A man of humility, a vessel of grace, and a true worshipper who gave his life to the glory of God.”

He noted that Kenoly ministered with exceptional spiritual depth, adding that he was greatly endowed with the anointing of the Holy Spirit. According to him, the gospel icon’s songs and teachings continually led individuals, churches, and even nations into deep and transformative worship experiences.

Bishop Oke also reflected on his personal relationship with the late worship leader, recalling that he had the privilege of hosting Kenoly on several occasions within Nigeria and in other countries. He described those moments as deeply impactful, marked by Kenoly’s passion, consistency, and strong commitment to the Body of Christ.

“He carried the presence of God wherever he ministered,” Bishop Oke said, stressing that the influence of the gospel singer has left a lasting imprint on multiple generations of believers.

While acknowledging the pain of the loss, the PFN leader stated that Christians take comfort in the assurance that a life fully yielded to God’s purpose is never lived in vain.

He extended his condolences to Kenoly’s wife, children, and grandchildren, praying that the Holy Spirit would surround them with strength, peace, and divine comfort in this difficult time.

Bishop Oke concluded his tribute by citing Revelation 14:13, expressing confidence that the departed worship leader is blessed to have entered into rest after his labour, with his works continuing to speak on his behalf.

Ron Kenoly, who died at the age of 81, remains widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in contemporary gospel worship, renowned for timeless songs that shaped worship practices across the world for decades.
