The Joint Task Force North East, Operation HADIN KAI, has recorded fresh operational gains across Borno and Adamawa states, rescuing abductees, repelling an ISWAP attack on a military base, arresting suspected terrorist logistics suppliers, and recovering weapons, cash, vehicles, and other supplies.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by the Acting Military Information Officer, Operation HADIN KAI, Capt. Mohammed Goni, said troops of the 115 Task Force Battalion rescued two abductees during ongoing search-and-rescue operations in Askira/Uba Local Government Area of Borno State on July 7, 2026.
The troops also recovered N1.2 million suspected to be proceeds of criminal activities, food items, and other logistics believed to have supported terrorist operations.
The rescued victims have been evacuated to a secure location for medical treatment and psychosocial support.
Captain Goni further disclosed that troops stationed at Forward Operating Base (FOB) Logomani in Ngala Local Government Area under Sector One successfully contained a coordinated attack launched by ISWAP terrorists.
According to the military, the insurgents briefly breached part of the base’s defensive perimeter during an intense firefight before troops regrouped and launched a counter-offensive that forced the attackers to retreat with significant casualties.
It was gathered that one soldier was killed in the attack, while two gun trucks and some combat equipment were damaged.
Reinforcements have since been deployed and exploitation operations are ongoing around the base.
In Adamawa State, troops of the 232 Battalion arrested a suspected notorious criminal in Gombi Local Government Area following intelligence reports.
Subsequent exploitation led to the recovery of one AK-47 rifle, two magazines, and 28 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition.

The military also announced the arrest of two suspected terrorist logistics suppliers by troops of the 149 Battalion in Mobbar Local Government Area of Borno State. Recovered items included cash, a Volkswagen Golf car, construction materials, household items, and other supplies allegedly intended for terrorist groups.
In another operation, troops of the 24 Task Force Brigade, working with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force, conducted a clearance mission around Wulgo and recovered a sack containing assorted illicit drugs abandoned by fleeing insurgents.
The military also confirmed the surrender of six suspected ISWAP members and their families to troops of the 192 Battalion in Sector One. Preliminary investigations indicated that the group fled from Guduf Bubayagwa and Chikide enclaves in the Mandara Mountains of Gwoza Local Government Area.
Items recovered from the surrendered suspects included N1.54 million and two mobile phones.
The military added that troops intercepted another suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP logistics supplier at Molai checkpoint while transporting large quantities of medical supplies without clearance, while troops of the 233 Tank Battalion, in collaboration with local hunters, arrested another suspect in Tarmuwa Local Government Area with five motorcycle tyres believed to be meant for terrorist elements.
Captain Goni said the latest successes demonstrated the effectiveness of sustained offensive operations, actionable intelligence, and cooperation among security agencies and auxiliary forces in disrupting terrorist logistics networks and protecting communities across the North-East.
He reiterated the military’s commitment to continuing search-and-rescue operations until all abducted persons are safely reunited with their families and warned individuals involved in supplying food, fuel, construction materials, transportation, or any other logistics to terrorist groups to desist immediately or face prosecution.
