The Nigeria Police Force has arrested three suspected members of an armed robbery and vehicle-snatching syndicate allegedly operating between Kaduna State and the Federal Capital Territory.
The Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, disclosed this in a statement issued in Abuja on Sunday, August 30, 2026.
Operatives of the Force Intelligence Department-Special Tactical Squad (FID-STS) arrested the suspects during intelligence-led operations conducted between August 14 and 19.
The suspects are Ahmed Saidu, alias Diamond M; Alex Gabriel, alias Junior M; and Ahmed Mahudu.
Police said they were linked to robberies involving vehicles allegedly snatched at gunpoint. Operatives recovered a red Toyota Corolla and an army-coloured Volkswagen Golf 3.
Investigators also linked the suspects to Yakubu Yewa, alias Y/Come, identified as the alleged leader of the syndicate. Yewa is currently held at Kuje Correctional Centre, Abuja, where he is standing trial for armed robbery.

Police alleged that Yewa coordinated the syndicate’s operations and supervised the movement and disposal of stolen vehicles within Nigeria and abroad.
The development follows a separate FID-STS operation in Kaduna on March 16, when three suspected armed robbers were arrested and 10 stolen vehicles recovered.
Police alleged that the suspects altered or removed registration details to conceal the vehicles’ identities and ownership.
There is no indication that the two cases are connected.
The police said investigations are continuing to identify other suspects, recover more vehicles and trace weapons allegedly used in the robberies.
The Force said the operation reflects its ongoing efforts to dismantle organised criminal networks and prosecute offenders.
