The Nigeria Police Force has declared two individuals wanted in connection with the disappearance of 26-year-old Chukwunyere Esther Chinaza, who was last seen in the Shoreline area of Banana Island, Ikoyi, Lagos State.
The two suspects identified by the police as Ajibola Obateru, 33, and Folawiyo Balogun Alagbado, 32, were declared wanted by the Office of the Commissioner of Police, State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti-Yaba, Lagos.
The police also declared Chukwunyere missing in a Special Police Gazette Bulletin, stating that the case involved allegations of conspiracy and murder.
According to the bulletin, Chukwunyere was declared missing after she was last seen on June 22, 2026, at Shoreline Axis, Banana Island, Ikoyi, Lagos.
The police said she had returned from Dubai with her male friend, who is based in South Africa, and was last seen at the Shoreline area before her whereabouts became unknown.
The bulletin described Chukwunyere as an Igbo woman, aged 26, with a tall-to-average build and fair complexion. Her last known address was listed as Horizon Estate, Ikate, Lagos State.
In a separate bulletin, the police declared Ajibola Obateru wanted in connection with conspiracy and murder.
The police alleged that Obateru conspired with others to attack the victim and made away with her body and personal belongings. The bulletin stated that the alleged crime was committed at Shoreline Axis, Banana Island, Ikoyi, Lagos.
Obateru was described as a 33-year-old Yoruba man, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a thin build, oval face, long nose and black eyes. His last known address was listed as Ajoda New Town, Ibadan, Oyo State.
The police also declared Folawiyo Balogun Alagbado wanted over the same case, alleging that he conspired with others to attack the victim, allegedly killed her and moved her body to an unknown location.

According to the police bulletin, the victim’s belongings were also allegedly taken by the fleeing suspect and his accomplices.
Balogun was described as a 32-year-old Yoruba man of average height, with an oval face, wide nose, long wide mouth, medium lips and dark complexion. His last known address was also listed as Ajoda New Town, Ibadan, Oyo State.
The police’s description of the alleged offence links both men to the investigation into the disappearance of Chukwunyere and the circumstances surrounding the case at Banana Island.
The circumstances leading to Chukwunyere’s disappearance, as well as the whereabouts of her body, remain unclear from the information contained in the police bulletins.
The police have urged members of the public who may have information about the suspects or the missing woman to immediately contact the nearest police station or the Office of the Commissioner of Police, State Criminal Investigation Department, Musiliu Smith Street, Panti-Yaba, Lagos.
The police also provided contact numbers through which information concerning the case can be reported.
The declaration of the two men as wanted marks a significant development in the investigation as authorities continue efforts to establish what happened to Chukwunyere and locate those allegedly involved in the case.
The Nigeria Police Force has not stated in the bulletins whether the two suspects have been arrested or whether Chukwunyere’s remains have been recovered.
The allegations against the two men remain subject to police investigation and due process, and their declaration as wanted does not by itself establish their guilt.
