Police Rescue Five Kidnap Women, Children in Zamfara

The Zamfara State Police Command has rescued five women and children who were abducted by suspected bandits along the Dansadau–Gusau highway.

According to a statement by the State Police Spokesman, DSP Yazid Abubakar, on Friday, operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit were on patrol when they encountered motorists and commuters blocked by armed bandits.

The officers engaged the attackers in a gun duel, forcing them to flee and leaving the victims behind.

The rescued individuals were taken to Gusau, where they received medical attention before being reunited with their families.
