President Tinubu Mourns Fallen Soldiers, Condemns Kebbi Schoolgirls’ Abduction

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the abduction of schoolgirls in Kebbi State and the tragic death of Brigadier General Musa Uba and other military personnel who lost their lives during combat operations in Borno State.

In a statement released on his X (formerly Twitter) account, the President said he was heartbroken by the abduction and profoundly saddened by the loss of the gallant officers and soldiers who sacrificed their lives while defending the country. He offered prayers for their families and for the families of the kidnapped girls, describing the events as deeply painful.

“As Commander-in-Chief, I am depressed with the tragic death of our soldiers and officers on active duty,” President Tinubu stated, while acknowledging the heroic service of Brigadier General Musa Uba and others who died in the line of duty. He called them “fallen heroes” and prayed for God’s comfort upon their grieving families.

The President also condemned the abduction of innocent schoolgirls by terrorists in Kebbi State, reiterating his concern over the disruption of education and the psychological trauma inflicted on children and their families. He has directed security agencies to act swiftly, rescue the abducted girls, and ensure their safe return.

Tinubu noted the rise in violent extremism in some parts of the country and assured Nigerians that he has instructed security forces to respond with “urgency, clarity, and decisive action.” He emphasized that safeguarding lives requires cooperation between security agencies and citizens, urging communities to provide intelligence and share information that could help prevent further attacks.

He vowed that those who threaten national peace and citizen safety will face the full power of the Nigerian state.

“May God comfort the bereaved families,” the President said, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to protecting every Nigerian child and securing the nation.
